Question of the Day...........

QOD: What's new?

I've been busy this past month and haven't had any burning questions of the day to ponder publicly. These are the things that are new for me: new job (left KS to go sell proxy research and voting services), new age (had a birthday in early October), and new (and improved) outlook.

Now the job is not only new, but a HUGE departure from selling media. Same strategic type of a sale, but with investment managers, portfolio managers, analysts, CCO's; smart folk. The age, while I'm not so concerned about turning, gulp, forty-three, I am concerned enough with the effects of aging that I have engaged in micro-dermabrsion facials and am considering Botox. All in the hopes that I will look fabulous for my 25th high school reunion.

It's the new, and improved, outlook that has me pondering the questions of the universe, like "what are we doing here" and "what color is your parachute?" Not really, but I'm thinking enough about this life and my existence to make sure that I focus on these few things for the next forty-three years on this planet. Those things would be:
1. Make an impact. Make someone happy, love wildly and with reckless abandon, be a good samaritan to the lady who hit a pedestrian in the grocery store parking lot (Yes, this did happen where I comforted and helped a freaked out lady until her people showed up to take over) - but don't sit idly by while life happens around you.
2. Do what you love. And don't settle until you find that thing or those things. It could be you spend your whole life looking and find that just going through the process and trying new things is a turn-on for you - go for it and don't apologize for indecision - smorgasbords and buffets exist for a reason.
3. Travel. See the world outside your neighborhood and dive into the pool of humanity. You will be a more humble and appreciative human being for the experience. Places on my list include Africa, Australia, Eastern Europe and Egypt. Perhaps for pyramids, Machu Pichu will have to suffice for now.

Book recommendation: Honeymoon with my brother: a memoir. Terrific tale of a guy dumped at the alter who opts to tour the world with his brother. Fabulous. Visit: http://www.honeymoonwithmybrother.com/
