Question of the Day...........

QOD: Was the story of Superman vague imagery for the second coming?

I know, a heavy question for a Monday morning, but I caught the latest Superman movie, Superman Returns, over the weekend on cable. (We've been so busy lately that I haven't seen many movies on the first run, so I know this one has been out for a while). One thing that struck me about this movie, aside from the fact that the male lead, Brandon Routh, is a dead-ringer for Christopher Reeve, or the fact that Kate Bosworth looks awful as a brunette, is that in the story, Superman's father says this:

Even though you've been raised as a human being you're not one of them. They can be a great people, Kal-El. They wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all - their capacity for good - I have sent them you... my only son." - Jor-El.

Sounds like a biblical reference to me.... Anyone else get that imagery?

One more thing - I love, love, love Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. He may swing both ways - but there is somthing super sexy about him - especially without hair!

Tomorrow is the 6th anniversary of 9/11 - please say a prayer for those who gave their lives for Freedom and remember we must be strong and fight for all that America stands for - God Bless America!
